COMPETITIONS
The Virtuoso&Belcanto Festival Competitions are reserved exclusively for students enrolled in the advanced courses.
Registrations will be collected exclusively through an online form that will be shared with the admitted students.
Deadline for enrolling in our competitions is June 30th, 2025.
COMPETITIONS
STEP 1
All accepted and enrolled students in the advanced instrumental courses will be eligible to participate in the competition, upon registration and submission of the chosen repertoire no later than June 30th, 2025.
The Concerto Competitions winners will give a solo concerto in one of the following Concert Series:
- Populäre Konzerte, concert season organized at Berlin Philarmonie by Konzertdirektion Prof. Victor Hohenfels
- ORT- Orchestra della Toscana
- Orchestra Nuova Scarlatti di Napoli
Further collaboration agreements are in progress.
The repertoire, freely chosen by the candidate, must be solo concertos selected from the Classical / Romantic / Modern periods.
For the Concerto Competition are admitted only musicians born between January 1st, 1993 and December 31st, 2009.
The competition will consist of two rounds:
Semi-final – by Wednesday, July 30th, 2025
Students in the semi-final will have to choose two different solo concertos, exhibiting different styles and from different periods. The contestant will have to play two movements: one selected by the contestant (from the 1st concerto) and one chosen by the judges (from the 2nd concerto).
The overall duration of the performance is 20 minutes. The juries will be formed by the teachers of the respective programs.
Final – Saturday, August 2nd, 2025
The performance of a solo concerto was selected from the two concertos presented in the semi-final round. The maximum duration of the performance: 25 minutes.
A maximum of 14 candidates will be admitted to the final round. The Jury Committee will comprise the Artistic Director of the Virtuoso&Belcanto Festival, some of the Professors of the advanced courses, and representatives of the Institutional partners.
STEP 2
The Chamber Music Competition will be held on Sunday, July 27th, 2025. The deadline for ensembles to register and communicate the repertoire is June 30th, 2025. If more than 15 ensembles register for the competition, a first selection will be held by Thursday, July 24th. All members of the ensembles must be under the age of 35 (considering the day of the Final).
Only chamber groups enrolled in the courses can take part in the competition.
The program has a free choice of repertoire of music composed after 1750 (arrangements provided by the composer or authorized by him/her are admitted), for a maximum total duration of circa 20 minutes.
Winners may be notified of possible concerts in future seasons of Italian and international concert organizations.

- 2nd prize: €1.500
- 3rd prize: €1.000
